- first-degree scientific researcher and deputy director of the Institute for Political Studies of Defense and Military History;
- chairman of the Romanian Commission of Military History;
- specialist in the modern and contemporary history of Romania and its army, as well as in geopolitical and geostrategic matters;
- has published and coordinated various papers, volumes of documents, studies, articles, etc. on the two World Wars in the 20th century as well as the Cold War. Against this background, he also approached issues related to the history of Bessarabia, particularly in the 20th century.
