I. — Born on 11 May 1972, in Săiţi, Căuşeni district, Republic of Moldova. Graduate of the High School in the village of Săiţi. Graduate of the Faculty of History within the "Ion Creangă" State Pedagogic University (1994) and Law School, Moldova State University (1999). Ph.D. undergraduate at the “Al. I.Cuza” University in Iaşi (1994-1998). Ph.D. in history (1999). Postgraduate studies at the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogic University (2004-2006). Assistant lecturer (1994-1999), senior lecturer (1999-2002), reader (since 2002) with the Faculty of History and Ethno-pedagogy of the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogic University in Chişinău.

Founding member and chairman of the Young Historians’ National Association in Moldova - ANTIM (since 1997). Founder and member of the Center for Archeological Research in Moldova - CCARM (1997). Professional training courses at Maryland University, United States (with a Fulbright scholarship, 2007), Römisch-Germanische Kommission des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts, Frankfurt am Main, Germany (with a Humboldt scholarship, 2006), Georg Eckert Institut, Braunschweig, Germany (2002, 2003, 2006, 2007), Central European University, Budapest, Hungary (2001, 2002, 2005), Institut für Ur- und Frühgeschichte, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany (DAAD scholarship, 2004; INTAS project, 2006, 2007, 2008), University of Athens (IKY scholarship, 2004), Thames Valley University, London, Great Britain (1999). Recipient of the National Youth Award in the Scientific and Technical field (2002) and of the Chişinău city Youth Prize for Science and Art (2002). The “Vasile Pârvan” Award granted by the Romanian Academy for the paper Populaţia spaţiului pruto-nistrean în secolele VIII-IX (“The Population Living between the Prut and Dniester Rivers during the 8th-9th Centuries”), Chişinău, Pontos Publishing House, 2005.

II. – Historian. Research focusing primarily on material and spiritual culture during the early Middle Ages, investigations on protecting the cultural and historical patrimony and review of history school books.

III. Publications (2 monographs, over 50 scientific articles and more than 50 articles in various newspapers and magazines) – Populaţia spaţiului pruto-nistrean în secolele VIII-IX (“The Population Living between the Prut and Dniester Rivers during the 8th-9th Centuries”), Chişinău, Pontos Publishing House, 2005, 404 p. - Cum să elaborăm şi să analizăm manualele şcolare (“How to draft and review school books”, Chişinău, Cartdidact Publishing House, 2006, 148 p.

IV. Editor: InfoHis Informative Bulletin (2000-2006); The Chronicles of the Young Historians’ National Association in Moldova, Historical Yearbook, published since 1999; the ANTIM Monographs series (3 volumes already published); the Adevărul despre istorie (“Truth about History”) series (2 volumes already published); 2 compilations of pieces of legislation (one in the field of cultural patrimony protection and the other on students’ rights); 1 teaching guide for history professors; 4 volumes of lecture contents, etc. .
